the UK or Melbourne/Sydney for an awesome college life?

I am applying to Sunderland, I don't know if its any good, but I am only required to do one year to finish up my degree, so that's an advantage for me. However, I was looking thru my pictures of a friend who is studying in Melbourne on facebook and the place looks amazing! Beaches, surfing, palm trees and what not.. and it seems like they have great weather as well. Now I am confused as to where I should apply to for the best college life ever. And then i thought of Miami, but that'll be a tad too ambitious seeing as how my scholarship is only open to universities in the UK or Australia. I need a non-bias opinion please.
