How are the beaches in South Carolina?

The texas beaches have nice warm water and are pretty clean. I went to california and the water was almost too cold to swim. I am beginning to plan a vacation for next year. Any other info about SC beaches is very welcome.

1. better than the beaches in Wisconsin I can tell you that.
2. Depends on when you go- like what time of the year. But I generally find themn enjoyable.
3. The water is warm during the summer, may-september. They are clean but the water will be a bit different that Tx because of the gulf vs. ocean. Myrtle beach is a tourist spot with alot of hotels, clubs , bars, very crowdd. Charleston is a good tourist destination that has nice beaches that are quieter and more resort-like.
