what would the white, water-filled slug-like creatures be we found washed up on the beach?
Are they animals or plants?! They are white, approximately 10-15 cms long, sausage like with a snout at one end which retracts when poked(!) but are smooth, unlike sea cucumbers. They were found on a South Australian beach near Adelaide.

They may be sea slugs. Sorry for the fact that no one else answered your question.
