Does anyone in Texas know why the beaches are so full of seaweed and barnacles?
THESE ARE MAINTAINED BEACHES, THIS HAS NEVER BEEN ON THE BEACHES BEFORE, YOU CAN SEE IT COMING IN WITH THE WAVES IN MASS AMOUNTS...NO MATTER WHICH BEACH YOU ARE ON IN PORT A OR PADRE ISLAND...IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO MAINTAIN AT THE RATE IT IS COMING ONTO THE BEACH!

- Prevailing winds this time of year blow it in. Go to a beach that is maintained and you will be OK. Just watch out for stingrays and man o war.
- Texas beaches always have cycles.. one year it was jellyfish.. they were EVERYWHERE ..then one year it was crabs.. one year it was the lil colorful oysters... bottom line is there are cycles to maritime life... as to much of one type of life breeds it gets washed ashore.. it is simply something you learn to live with after spending a few decades in Texas.
