is there any beaches by San Antonio Texas?

im going 2 San Antonio Texas is there any beaches about there if so can u tell me where

1. San Antonio is near the middle of the state, NOT on the gulf coast, so there aren't any beaches, BUT there is a beautiful river walk with lots of shops and restaurants, so PLENTY to keep yourself occupied. Have a good trip, Tex
2. If you mean ocean beaches, no as San Antonio is an inland city about 200 miles from the coast. There are some nice lakes with beaches not far from the city, however.
3. NO!...about 40 miles to the east is the Guadalupe river, fun for tubing,camping
4. The closest coastal beach is near Corpus Christi and is about a 3 hour drive from San Antonio. Many people have made day trips to the coast, but less are making this trip with the gas prices higher. This will make the trip easier, but you will still find traffic heavy when you get to the area near the beach on most weekends.
5. It's not bad to go to the local Lakes - Lakes have beaches too. Canyon Lake or even up to Austin Lake Travis. I prefer fresh water to the salt water any time. And no sharks or jellyfish!!
6. The ocean and beaches are actually not too far from here........about a two and a half hour drive to Corpus Christi but if u want a better beach with cleaner water, go to South Padre Island, thats where all the spring breakers go. Its about four hours away but its worth it! =]
