1. All of it. Why wouldn't you go farther West than Barcelona? There are some lovely beaches along the coasts heading towards (but not including) the Costa del Sol...I hear the Costa del Sol is even more built up than When I lived in Spain. The most famous ones would be Maresielles, Nice, Cannes, Monaco/Monte Carlo, St. Tropez, I know I'm missing a couple of them. I don't know how far East Livorno is, but the Italian Riviera is almost as celebrated as the French, and the French Riviera includes some of the most celebrated beaches in the world. Everything is a good resort. Just depends what you're looking for.
