why was the texas beach party aka the kappa so dead? do they even promote it anymore?

i heard it use to be really fun and alot people came but now it seems there are no concerts or real partys just a reason for cops to go insane writing tickets!! and people to just cruise the seawall i hope they try to revive that party but i dont think so

1. b/c it isn't the kappa beach party any more..the kappa isn't affliated with it anymore...it's now texas beach party..and it sucks..it's horrible

3. there was no beach party this yr. the promoter,tim day cancelled it to concentrate on other things. the beach party is way past its hey day. it used to be fun in the 90's up until above 2002 2003. but after that most people stopped going. i know i did. now its just a bunch if underaged kids, dope dealers, old heads from out of town who are married, and losers. the thrill is definitely gone
4. Because the city of Galveston made it difficult to continue on the scale it used to be. Businesses and the city itself were losing tons of money on the event because of the "behavior" problems associated with the event. The Lone Star Rally, on the other hand, still continues to grow, because the city works with the event coordinators, because the event itself brings in tons of money to the city and its businesses. There aren't the same conduct issues that there were with the beach party.
5. I heard it's getting wacker and wacker every year. It’s not what it use to be.
6. It got to the point that it was just a mess. Businesses would close for the whole weekend (and most still do) so there's no where to eat or shop. The crime rates when way up and it was costing the island more money than it was brining in.
7. The Texas Beach Party aka the former Kappa Beach Party is so played out,i guess people have moved on to bigger and better things,such as Splash!!!
