Where is a good place to fish and have a camp fire on the beach (either in Galveston or Texas City) at night?
I'm looking for a place where I can go fish of the shore and have a camp fire on a beach either in Galveston Beach or in Texas City. There will be a group of 15-20 of us and we are doing this overnight (Midnight fishing and crabbing). Open for any suggestions!

- Go to this website www.wildtexas.com it tells you where to go and what to do.
- Call the Galveston or Texas City Mayor's Office, before you have a beach campfire. I have never seen anyone with a campfire. Ask so you don't get a ticket or go to jail.
- There's always Galveston Island State Park...
- For both fishing and crabbing, I would suggest either the Texas City Dike or Rollover Pass on the Bolivar Peninsula. As long as it a small campfire, I think you are okay. Both places have bait camps but the ones at Rollover close for the night unless they are busy. If you want to be on a beachfront, seriously consider the Bolivar Peninsula. 32 Miles of beaches you can drive on and campfires are definitely allowed.
- Freeport beach ...on Bolvair Pen. : Travis Fort, The Jetties,Any pier but no fire. Sea Rim Park in Sabine Pass
- Crystal Beach. Take the ferry from Galveston to High Island. It's 1/2 mile down on the right side. Have fun!
