What or where are the best ocean beaches in Texas?

1. Texas is not on any Ocean. It is on the Gulf of Mexico
2. good beaches in Texas? hah! nothing compares to the Carolina strand...but, since I figure you're not going to the Carolina's anytime soon, I suggest you go about halfway between Houston and Padre (anywhere along there) b/c the tourists aren't. Good luck with that one. /ocean deprived in SA

Mustang Island is good, so are the beaches in Port Aransas, and South Padre Island; if you go to Corpus Christi, I implore you, dont' be fooled into thinking that North Beach, or the Bay is the actual beach. Some people like Galveston. I know our beaches are crappy, but at least we are by the Gulf..
