Garie Beach

California beaches VS South Beach, Miami?

I was in South Beach, Miami this summer and I loved it..water was warm, clean...only complaint is no waves...but still nice... I'm thinking of going to California next summer....what are the beaches like there? I heard the water's a lot colder than Florida...any suggestions on which places in particular in Cali?

  1. cali beaches are amazing!!! they are a tad colder but compared to the 100 degree dry air it feels amazing! Check out San Clemente(i visit most often), Dana Point, Venice Beach(the boardwalk!), Laguna Beach(great shopping), Newport Beach! We have so much to offer! The waves are always nice and most of these are cute beach towns with beach houses, lots of shopping, and interesting(and delicious) places to eat!!
  2. Yes California has colder beaches but the waves are great. Beaches to go to are balbowa beach, San Clementa, Hunnigton Beach, Santa Monica beach and you can follow it all the way down to Venice Beach. Also check out Corona Del Mar!!!! all great beaches with great waves and good boardwalks!!!!!
  3. California beachs have much larger waves and the water is much colder not a little bit colder but alot. Water is not as clear either. California has boardwalks and stuff like that though. All it all South Beach is always on the top ten beaches in the world. So unless you want waves or a board walk South Beach is better. But Cali's beaches are nice too.
  4. La Jolla, CA... need I say more?
  5. best beach is Venice Beach in Los Angeles...i dont like californian beaches but the water is too cold even in summer!!!
