Key West, Flordia beaches compared to beaches in california??
Key West, Florida is breathtaking. I loved the beaches and the scenery. Are there any beach spots in California that are similar? La Jolla seems to be pretty nice, I've heard. What else? I guess, to be more, specific, beaches that are not so packed... I'm looking for clean sand, clear blue water, and spots that are very very relaxing... Thanks sorry! I misspelled Florida in my question!

- malibu has some nice beaches...i'm not sure if any are as good as in key west though
- Its hard to beat the Florida beaches. I have lived both places and the California beaches have the brown sand but better waves. Florida beaches are generally very white but the waves are less. Overall, I would choose the Florida beaches
- Key West is beautiful, but have you ever seen Carmel California? La Jolla is very pretty too. There are beautiful beaches in Malibu as well. The main difference for me is the water. West coast/Pacific beaches have very cold water as there is no gulf stream as on the Atlantic side.
- California beach water is a lot colder than Florida beach water. This is because the cold California Current runs southward. Florida has the warm Gulf Stream Generally, the water north of Point Conception [the point that sticks out just up the coast from Santa Barbara] is cold year-round.
