- Huntington and Bolsa Chica both have fire pits. No permit. If you want one on a weekend you need to get there early. They close now at 10:00 which totally sucks since it gets dark so late in the summer.
- check with the state parks system in california
- you need a permit
- In LA Dockweiler near Santa Monica allow fires, but only in the Fire Rings. This is not a great beach(which is probably why it allows Bon Fires) and I would head down to Huntington Beach in Orange County. The rings do not need permits but are first come first serve so you need to get there early to get one. On a busy day that could be as early as 8 or so in the morning.
- Great question Ivy..various rules apply to various beaches in State Parks, County park beaches and City park beaches...and everyone seems to have their own way of doing things....(running generally north to south) In metro L.A. (I believe) bonfires are allowed in the following places: (L.A. peeps--Please correct me as I haven't had time to fully check this stuff out)... 1. Pismo Beach 2. Cabrillo 3. Will Rodgers 4. Maybe some places in Malibu ??? 5. Dockweiler 6. San Pedro (the neglected "beach") 7. Huntington Beach 8. Bolsa 9. Some places in the vicinity of Laguna Beach ???? 10. Dana Point.....
