I am in Central Arizona and I am looking for the best beaches in california to visit?

I am unfamilar with them and we would like to spend the day at one of them. (swim eat and relax), I would like to know which ones are the closest and nicest as well as unpolluted. Details please

1. I don't know if this is the best beach but I love to visit my grandma in OceanSide, CA. It's a nice place.
2. Malibu; Leo Carillo State Beach; Zuma Beach. Have fun! Also, check out the Santa Monica Pier, right on the beach in Santa Monica. Newport and Huntington are also good; as is San Clemente and Oceanside.
3. I'd normally recommend Zuma or Malibu, but there really aren't any places to eat so for you I say Redondo, Manhattan, Santa Monica, or Venice Beaches all have food and are pretty nice to boot.
4. I grew up in Santa Maria, Ca. The beaches around there were always the nicest! Pismo Beach, Avila Beach and others.
5. Imperial Beach just south of San Diego is nearly always rated as one of the ten best beaches in America (including Hawaii) and sometimes rated number 1. A wide, flat, clean white sand beach with gentle surf and lots of good places to eat, it would be hard to find anything better. Peace, Radical Geezer

For swimming and relaxing, I'd recommend La Jolla Shores - there's a good swimming area separate from the surfing area, within walking distance there is a little village with some nice simple eats (like Jeff's Burgers), and there's a nice park for barbecues and a playground for the kids. Plus La Jolla Shores is really pretty to just walk along. The waves are a bit more gentle here, which is good for swimming and beginning surfers. Plus you can rent kayaks to go check out the cliffs and cove, or go out to the kelp beds, which are also popular with snorkelers and scuba divers. La Jolla Shores is in San Diego. If you are more into people-watching at the beach, then perhaps Mission Beach or Pacific Beach (San Diego) are your style. Both also have lots of restaurants and bars nearby. If you want to surf, or watch surfers, check out Windansea beach just north of Pacific Beach. For a less developed beach, check out Torrey Pines (north of La Jolla). The waves here are little more fierce, but there are some nice walks you can do through the bluffs and cliffs of Torrey Pines State Reserve to get down to the beach, or you can park along the lagoon and be right at the beach. Another popular beach is along Coronado. Plenty of open sand for barbecuing and sports, gentle waves. Popular with tourists and there are lots of resort hotels along here, including the famous Hotel Del Coronado.

8. The best beaches are going to be the ones that are local only places... If you drive down the 101 from Venrura to Gavoita, you will always see cars on the side of the highway parked. These are the best beaches.
9. if you are looking for beaches in san diego, la jolla and coronado are the nicest with the least pollution but if you are looking for beaches with a lot of stuff to do and good places to eat pacific beach and mission beach are the funnest.
