is it legal to drink alcohol in the beaches of southern california?
Now that summer's almost here, my friends and i like to go to the beach and have a nice time..but, is it legal to drink alcohol?? will we get fined? f.y.i.... it's only to have a nice time, not to get drunk and we all are over 21 to all those answering;>... thank you so much i was just curious about it... i appreciate it

- No, it is not legal. You'll get cited for an open container
- Drinking is NOT allowed on any public beaches that I am aware of in Southern California. Many people do drink on the beach, and enforcement is difficult for law enforcement but, you could be be cited and fined or even taken to jail if you are drunk in public.
- I'm not aware of illegal But many places post signs many parks prohibit glass containers I'm sure the beaches would do the same to prevent broken glass and beer caps that cut feet...
- lol reminds me one time when my brother was in san diego when he was in the marine corps and he got drunk at the beach with his freind and they fell asleep and when they woke up they were like fish sticks uggh he peeled soo bad dead skin was like all over the place when he came back eww
