Are there beaches or beach towns in California that are just like in Blue Crush?

I love the beach, and after high school I plan on taking a trip to california. What is a good beach to go to? I don't want it to be overpopulated with tourists, more of locals. I'm talking about, straight up californian beaches..Think Lords of Dogtown

1. There are many beautiful beaches in CA. If you want to enjoy the beaches like one shown in blue crush then i would suggest visit Half moon bay, pompano beach and Pebble beach. There is one more place where you can get spectacular view of beaches i.e. Trip on highway 1 towards bigsur from Francisco . The view is amazing and there are many beaches on way, which wont be overpopulated with tourists...
