- I heard turks and caicos is nice from a friend. I prefer Jamaica for the all inclusive resorts so I can eat/drink to my hearts content... Considered Hedonism? We met some people staying there and they were having a great time.
- I've been to all three. The Bahamas is very commercialized and Atlantis is ridiculously overpriced. Cozumel is great if you stay at a resort that has its own water filtration system. I got sick from drinking a Bloody Mary at a local bar because of the ice. Turks and Caicos ( the main island is Provincialis or Provo) is really underdeveloped. There was only 1 traffic light on the whole island when I was there about 4 years ago. I would say Aruba is the nicest island in the Carribean. If you scuba dive all of it is great. If you want to know more. e-mail me.
- You should consider a cruise. I have been on three Western Caribbean cruises, and I feel that it is the best way to travel the area. Through these trips, I have been able to explore a number of different places, including the Bahamas, St. Thomas, and Cozumel, just to name a few. I prefer Carnival Cruises for my age group (I am 20), but you can always check into other lines. The food is awesome, and it is all inclusive--it's fabulous!
- If it's pure and utter tranquility you seek, hit the Turks and Caicos. The Bahamas are a bit too ritzy and commercialized and while you could certainly have a good time, it is not the best destination for just coolin' out. Cozumel is laid back but unless you're a big time diver or snorkeler, you might not enjoy it all that much. The beaches leave a bit to desired unless you hit the under developed side of the island where the water is pretty choppy. The Turks and Caicos would be your best bet. The beaches are pristine and the two times I've been there, you could literally be one of about 4 people on some of the beaches. Because of it's geographical locale, you also have the opportunity to hop to a couple of the other smaller islands which makes the trip that much more enjoyable.
- I have been to all three. By far, Turks and Caicos, the duties aren't as high as in the Bahamas and not as developed. There are some really nice resorts in Providenciales and really over the top nice people.
