Best beach on South Carolina Coast to just show up on a weekend?

Which beach destination in South Carolina is the best one to just show up at this weekend? We have no time to plan, but want a good, kid-friendly beach where we have a chance to get a hotel room for Saturday night. Opinions? Referrals? Bring 'em on! Holiday Inn Pavilion has no rooms available. =[ Looks nice, though!

1. There is a Holiday Inn Pavalion in Myrtle Beach which is kid friendly and there is a ton to do there.
