which beaches are the nicest in South Carolina?

Are there any clean beaches with fine powder-like sand and warm, clear, blue water that will make me feel like I'm in the caribbean? Please email recommendations for uncrowded beaches good for swimming and relaxing. Names of hotels on the beach would also be appreciated. Thank you!

1. No, but go to Myrtle Beach Resort. It's nice there.
2. Outside of Charleston are the best.
3. Isle of Palms near Charleston. The water is not blue like in the Caribbean, but the beach is very nice. The reason the water isn't blue is because if sediment from the rivers that exit into the ocean in this area. The water is clean, just has some sediment which takes away from the deep blue water of the Caribbean. The Charleston area is also very nice. But if you are looking for night life after the beach, I suggest Myrtle Beach.
4. Agreed on the Charleston beaches. Very few beaches on the mainland U.S. have the same sand and water as Caribbean. Myrtle has good beaches but is a big tourist trap and somewhat tacky in my opinion :) Charleston has few hotels right on the beaches (Folly Beach has 1 and Isles of Palms has 1 plus condos) Alot of rental prop. though. If money is not a big concern you can try Wild Dunes Resort, or Kiawah Island. Very pricey but some of the best beaches and extras you'll find. - 20 year Res.
