Tell me the best beaches to visit in cornwall/ Devon?

I am going next week and want to know the best beaches especially for rock pools? Is there any quiet beaches that are not as well populated?

1. Realistically, if the weather is decent, there will be no such thing as a quiet beach on the last Bank Holiday weekend of the year. Best beach? St Ives in Cornwall was voted Best UK Resort by The Guardian, because of the quality of the beaches and the other things to do if the weather is not so great.
2. My favourite beach is the one at Start Bay / Start point. Great sand, great swimming. A very interesting recent history there too, the Americans lost 750 men in a training session for D-Day, the Gerry's used fast torpedo boats and sank several landing craft. It was hushed-up until the 1970's, but thanks to one man's (A Devon man not an American) campaign for recognition for the men that died, there is now a memorial and a recovered Tank at the end of the bay.
