Where is the best place out of Europe to holiday in May for good weather, nice beaches and things to do?
Am looking to go away for 3 weeks in May and really can't decide what I want to do or where I want to go. My dream destination was India but apparently it is incredibly hot over there during May, and too much for us Brits! Have travelled Thailand and Vietnam in the past and loved the relaxed vibe and beautiful beaches in Thailand, as well as all the interesting things to do in Vietnam. As we are away for 3 weeks, it is possible that we can do a stop off somewhere. Maybe 1 week in one country, and 2 weeks in another. Or just 3 weeks in different parts of 1 country. Have had a look at a few options, but struggling to find the right balance of what I want. Have so far considered Laos, Borneo, Fiji, Sri Lanka and Maldives. Definately want to get out of Europe and like the idea of Asia again. Want good weather, gorgeous beaches, and tourist sites or wildlife. Also, suggestions on what to do and where to go in suggested destinations would be appreciated!

- Tenerife has good weather all year round and there is always loads of stuff for eveyone to do
- The best beaches in the world that I visited, were in the Maldives.. beautiful white sands, clear blue indian ocean.. and tiny little islands.. perfect weather.. you could do a week in Sri Lanka and 2 weeks in Maldives.. or why not visit Mombassa they too are wonderful beaches, and you have the option of going on safari there too..Good luck and hope you find your dream place..
- What about Cambodia and Laos, in one trip? Angkor Wat in Cambodia is amazing. Also Myanmar (Burma) is fascinating. I once went on a dual destination trip to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. It was fun, the people are friendly, but it wasn't the best holiday I've ever had. However Sri Lanka is excellent for wildlife. Only go to the Maldives if you want pure relaxation.
- Try Mexico! it is not Asia but it is an amazing country to visit, very different from everything else you have seen, if you want beaches, then try the Yucatan Peninsula which has as well all the Mayan ruins and the jungle is quite cool, otherwise you can try any other beach from the Pacific like Los Cabos or Puerto Vallarta. If you want inland adventure, well, nothing like the Big Taco - Mexico City, which has a lot of things to do (visit the Aztec ruins!) and it is very chaotic (second biggest city in the world after Tokyo). There are as well some very interesting colonial towns like San Miguel de Allende which are absolutely beautiful. Mexico is the Number 4 country of biodiversity in the world so there's plenty to see if you like natural scenery. It is a very rich country in terms of history, food, music, kindness of the people, etc. You will not regret it.
- Scotland is beautiful.
- Bali, Fiji or Tahiti
- Try East Malaysia. The islands / beaches are beautiful. We went to Sipadan Island a few times..it was picture perfect! Also u can climb Mount Kinabalu & enjoy a lil nature and watch real live "Orang utans" at the sanctuary..they are soooo adorable! We spend 2weeks in the heart of Malaysia, shopping, exploring around, visiting the world's tallest building, then headed to the East coast of the peninsular to another island called "Redang"...1word,beautiful.It doesnt cost as much as Maldives for sure but snorkelling / diving was terrific.U can also pick up diving when ure there. We spend around 150euro's for a 4day 3night in Redang that included all 3x a day meals, snorkellin 2x a day, boat transfer to the islands & accomodation.Cheap huh? U can google up the links below for more info.Hope i helped! Cheers! :)
- indian ocean (also if it's more expensive), madagascar, mauritius, seychelles.. u can have a bath, cause near the equator the seasons are in reverse, and the rain season is from may to october... u won't be wrong!! madagascar is the biggest one, and u can do lots of excursions to pass good time there (3 weeks can be too long, but there there are lots of things to do!!)
