Problems with booking Beaches Resorts through Joy Star?

Went online to Beaches Resort looking for family resort. Filed out request form. Form was routed to Joy Star. 3 people responded. One being the top sales person for Beaches. Independent contracted agent. She drives a Hummer in the Pasadena, Ca area with Beaches/Sandals on it. We are a week from leaving. We started almost a year ago to set this up. Yesterday we found that only the deposit was sent in and we have not received any material to continue our vacation and the rest of our money to Beaches has not been paid by this person. One family paid in full up front. The other two families have invested $1700.00. Last night we spoke to her and she was to return the call in 40 minutes. Never heard from her. She has already been brought into small claims court for similar instances. What can be done?

1. Nothing much. You fell for a common scam. That would be internet booking but no delivery. I suggest you go to comodo.com and download their free verification engine. That way if any site is bad or has been reported, a big red padlock pops up and lets you know. My husband has this on his laptop and went to what he thought was the American Express site. It turned out to be a phishing site. Always check their credentials.
