Which is a better beach in Australia, Bondi Beach or Coogee Beach? I am leaving for Sydney, Australia on the 19th, and my father and I wanted to stay at a nice hotel on the beach front. I am unable to find anything that is actually on the beach. Everything I find says it is a mile or two away, or that it is across the street from the beach. Does anyone know of names of hotels that are located on the beach? Also, we were more pushing towards staying on Bondi Beach, but which is a nicer beach, Bondi Beach or Coogee Beach??

What are Parking Rates at Bondi Beach? I am going to Bondi Beach (Sydney, NSW) very soon. I was wondering if anyone knew the parking rates there before I find out the hard way? Or any neat ways of reducing the cost. I know Westfields offer free parking for a certain number of hours, and apparently buying a movie validates an extra few hours. Thanks :)

Going to Bondi Beach..lifeguards, can u read this? Hi there. Im going to Bondi Beach in Australia in early November with my family. Im 14 years old and had open-heart surgery in January. My scar is pretty much noticeable. Im going to be wearing a bikini, but I don't want peopke staring at my scar. How do I NOT bring attention to it? Plus, the heat does really get to me and I am under medication and my Dr. said that the meds can make me faint. So my question goes out to anyone that lives in Australia that goes to Bondi Frequently or a lifeguard that works at Bondi, what is the best possible way to keep cool while at the beach? My Dr. said not to take much heat cuz i could faint. i also have a pacemaker cus I have atrial fibrillation(A-fib). The heat an bring up an episode of A-fib. I usually feel something weird in my heart before the episode, so should I just goto the lifeguard tower, with parents?
Should I move to Manly or Bondi Beach? I am moving to a Sydney from the US in a couple months and am trying to figure out where exactly I should live. I am definitely keen on the idea of living in a beach neighborhood - and Manly and Bondi are the 2 beaches that I hear about the most! I need some more info and help on deciding which one would be a better fit for me (or if you think there is a better beach area than those 2, let me know as well)...here are some things to factor into my decision: - Commute. The shorter my commute to work is, the better (obviously!) I almost definitely wouldn't want to have a commute more than an hour, and a 45-minute or especially a half-hour commute would be nice. My office will be in North Sydney (5 Blue Street to be exact). I'm not sure I would have a car, so my commuting options would either be a ferry, bus, or train. - Type of people. While I like to go out and have fun, I am a little bit more down-to-earth, so I might not like a beach that is overly pretentious or trendy. From what I've read so far, Manly might be better than Bondi in this regard, but I wouldn't mind more insight on this. - Things to do. I definitely want an area that has a pretty good amount of nightlife, restaurants, shops, sports and beach activities, etc. - Also, other things to consider: I am 30 years old but still like to go out a decent amount at night - but am hoping for an area that has a great nightlife but with a lot of young professionals in their mid-late 20s or early 30s....and not dominated by students and other people in their young 20s. Also, it wouldn't hurt if the suburb I'm in I can get to other fun areas of the city pretty easily. Thanks for your help! Any specifics as to why you think one beach would be a better fit for me, over the other beach, I would greatly appreciate!!! :)
Bondi or Coogee Beach? Next semester I'm going to be studying at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, and I can either be accommodated at Bondi Beach or Coogee Beach. I was wondering if you had been, what your opinions are of both, and which one should I choose in the end? I just wanted to get some general opinions, Thanks!
What's with Bondi Beach in Australia? I watch "Baywatch" on the National Geographic Channel quite a bit..it's well done and those lifeguards at Bondi have to be among the world's best, if not THE best.........but, uh.....is this beach for real? Last episode, 3 spinal injuries from the surf tossing people on their heads. A figure was quoted a few shows back of close to 200 near-drowning rescues in a day. (not EVERY day of course) I could go on and on....body injuries, near drownings, undertow, currents, high waves. There's enough danger on this beach to allow a continuous weekly program of the lifeguards in action. My question: Have there been any (many?) fatalities at Bondi? ......and if so, are these "near misses" impressing any responsible party in the local community government? I know the Aussies are pretty tough lads, but, if this program is to be anywhere near believable (and National Geographic is usually pretty factual) seems to me they're really pushing their luck.
whats bondi beach like? im going to sydney in january and im staying in bondi with a few friends...has anyone been to bondi before and know what its like? the beach, the people, clubs and bars??? thanx jim j
What was Indian team doing at BONDI BEACH holmes? How did it help towin the Perth match holmes ? Orale vato! Hakuna Matata! I am very very sure holmes that visiting BONDI BEACH is the reason why India did it otherwise we all know holmes that winning at Perth was impossible for them. They played beach bolleyball at BONDI BEACH and that helped them becasue holmes you know that mood was not great in Indian camp after Sydney fiasco. I think the visit to BONDI BEACH helped them mentally a lot holmes. They enjoyed there a lot so they became happy hgolmes, they became happy. What you think holmes? What the did at BONDI BEACH ? And don't you think that every team should visit BONDI BEACH before playing a test match in Australia? Viva La Raza!!!!
Where is the best beach in Australia? Hey Aussies, in your opinion, which of your beaches is the greatest? And by that, I mean anything that you define as greatest from which is the cleanest, which has the best place to surf, which one has the hottest crowd, or perhaps which one is the most relaxing. The one I hear mentioned the most is Bondi beach. I was just curious as to what you thought. Thanks!

I have heard most international students live in either the Randwick area, Coogee beach area, Bondi beach area (which is apparently in order of how close it is to UNSW...), I need to find a cheap (preferably between AUD $150 -$250/wk, per person, 2-3 bedroom), furnished, comfortable apartment that I can rent for about 4.5 months...Thanks!

Is Bondi re-opening? Is Bondi Beach Club re-opening or not, cause some people say it's being torn down and others say it's re-opening. I had good craic there before. Even if it was nearly always empty there was something about it.
On the Irish beach? Patrick, who was on holiday from Ireland on Bondi beach couldn't seem to make it with any of the girls. So he asked the local lifeguard for some advice. Mate, it's obvious," says the lifeguard, "you're wearing them old baggy swimming trunks that make ya look like an old geezer. They're years out ta style. Your best bet is to grab yourself a pair of Speedos - about two sizes too small and drop a fist-sized potato down inside 'em. I'm tellin' ya mate...you'll have all the babes ya want!" The following weekend, Patrick hits the beach with his spanking new tight Speedos, and his fist-sized potato. Everybody on the beach was disgusted as he walked by, covering their faces, turning away, and laughing, looking sick! So Patrick went back to the lifeguard again and asked him, "What's wrong now?" JAHEESUS!" said the lifeguard, "Mate. The potato goes in front!"
