Best Florida Resort along eastern coast? Hey, my family is looking to go to Florida around late Febuary, we want to go somewhere on the coast between North Miami and Palm Beach, what are some of the best resorts for two adults, and a 16 year old, a 13 year old and a 9 year old? We are planning on going for about 5 days.
Best beach in Florida on gulf coast to stay at? My family went to Panama City Beach last year and stayed at Edgewater Beach Resort in the Golf Villas. We really enjoyed it there, but were wondering if there are any other beaches kind of near to that that are nicer with Villa's or Suites in the Hotel. Our price range is up to about $230, must have at least 1 bedroom. On the beach or right across the street would be great. So, any advice? =] thanks, tara
Best hotels or resorts to stay in with kids in Panama City Beach, FL? Hi, I would like to ask if someone knows the best hotel or resort facing (Gulf of Mexico )ocean and with balcony in Panama City Beach in Florida. I have two little kids too. There is so much choise, but I don't know the area that well, and I don't want to pay for something that isn't nice. Thanks!
My husband and I are looking for a nice beach resort in Florida.? Ideally, I am looking for a town or village-type resort, with pool, activities, food, and room all in the same area. (Not just a hotel.) It must be on the beach and it must be in Florida. Something near central Florida is prefered because we will be visiting my grandmother, who lives close Ocala, Florida immediatly before taking this beach vacation. It would be great to find a more adult location, without too many screaming kids running around. In the past I have loved staying at Sandals and Club Med! I am looking for detailed advice with names of specific resorts that you or someone you know has stayed at. Every web site says their hotel is the best, so I need an unbiased opinion!
What is the best hotel to stay at, in Clearwater Beach, Florida? I have never been to that part of Florida and I am thinking about going in October. I would like an oceanfront hotel. The reason I am asking on here is because I don't really trust hotel/motel sites because I have stayed at some hotels that looked great on the pictures but once I got there, they were dumps. I trust opinions of people who have stayed at the hotels more. So if anyone knows of a nice hotel to stay at please let me know. We will be staying for 4 days. Oh, I can not afford to pay too much for the room. So no expensive resorts please! :-) Thanks everyone!
Best Resorts for Solo traveler in Florida? I am planning to get away for a few days in July, I am a 36-year old female traveling solo from NYC. All I want is a nice hotel/resort on the beach somewhere in Florida, where I can just get up every morning, stroll down to the beach and sunbathe in peace all day. Since I will be alone, I would like to have everything I need in terms of food, amenities etc. right at the resort. I don't want to have to leave or travel anywhere in town if I don't have to. So I'm looking for a peaceful place, preferably with other people my age to chat with, and no screaming children to deal with. I have been researching a lot and can't seem to find what I want. Also not terribly sure of my budget yet - however I think I do want at least a 4-star resort. I just don't want something icky. My passport is in process of being renewed so I have to stay in the states right now - maybe Virgin Islands would be a possibility as well? Your suggestions are very much appreciated! I am lost trying to figure this out! Thanks everyone.
Best resort to stay in Panama City Beach, Florida. This is for senior trip purposes.? There are currently two groups going. One group is going to the Sandpiper in Panama, which is the group that will get you into trouble. The second group is the more conservative bunch, but they want to stay in Destin. Bad idea? I fall in between the two and want to get a group of my close guy friends and just make the trip ourselves. The group in Destin also has to have someone 25 or older to sign for the house they are getting, which leads to my dilemma. I am hoping to find a place that sleeps 6 or less, about $1000 or less for a week, close to the Sandpiper, and you can be 18 to rent (which I've looked on some sites and they say under 25 okay? But I don't know the specifics).. Any help would be VERY greatly appreciated. Thanks everybody..
What is the best resort on the Florida gulf coast? My fiancé and I are having a beach wedding in the Destin area and are trying to decide what resort along the gulf coast would be best for our honeymoon. We would like to stay 7 nights but not break the bank. Any suggestions?

Best Beach around Panama City, Florida? I'm going to spend a couple days in Florida next week. My boyfriend wants to go to Port St. Joe (about an hour east of Panama City, FL). Does anyone out there know of any beautiful, "hidden" beaches around that area----fort walton, panama city, mexico beach, port st. joe area? I just want to find something less touristy and less commercial. I really want to find a small hotel by the beach, but not a big, chain resort. Any suggestions?
Is this the best florida vacation ever, or what? My family and I are going to disney in 35 days. It will be my 1st time flying and being to disney, and out of the delaware valley! (i live in NJ) We are going to disney and staying in the swan hotel for 4.5 days, then we are heading south to a beach resort for the last 4.5 days for some R&R. Now, I need some advice on what to pack, wear and do and not to do, since its my 1st time traveling. Any thoughts from experienced travelers???? What is Florida's best ski resort? I heard there are large, rocky-type mountains on Floridas West, central, and eastern regions featering 23 world-class ski resort with year round skiing (probably so tall :) and need to plan out a ski vacation. Which ski resort is the best? Also, I want to go to the ski resort nearest to beaches i've heard of like clearwater and miami.
Where would be the best vacation in Florida? Me and my wife are wanting to go to florida for our first vacation alone away from the kids. We are looking for relaxation on a beautiful beach, in a beautiful resort where we can find things to do also like shopping, jet ski's, scuba diving., and some night life not to far away. Any suggestions?
What is the best way to put a positive spin on the fact that the condohotels I'm selling are not pet friendly? I am a Condominium Owner Service Manager at a beach resort in Florida. When I have a prospective buyer for the hotel, the question occasionally comes up as to whether or not we are pet-friendly. It's a hard thing to have to explain and justify to some clients; whose pet is truly like their child, that they cannot bring their "children" along when they come to stay at the resort. I'm afraid that this may be a turn off to pet owners, and that we may lose a sale over it. As with anything in sales, there is a way to put a positive spin on ANYTHING. How can I turn this "neg" in to a "pos" ... or at least a "Posi-Neg" :) Thanks! These are prospective BUYERS, not nightly renters. - We are asking them to spend 200 - 750k on 328-822 sq ft. and a lifestyle that they can enjoy for a max. of 42 nights a year, and this is an "investment" that is not likely to be cash-flow positive for quite some time. It's actually much more attractive that that sounded, but you see why "no pets" may literally be the last drop in the bucket if they are pet lovers.
Best Ritz-Carlton in Florida? I know that there are a few Ritz-Carlton luxury hotel and resorts in Florida (Amelia Island, Orlando, Sarasota, Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, South Beach, Naples, Coconut Grove, and Key Biscayne), and was just wondering if anyone here has been to any, how the experience was, and which is supposed to be the best? A few more side questions-- Was it crowded when you went (that's a positive), is there much of a nightlife (all ages), and is it fun for large families? Thanks.. Uncrowded is fine, but preferably not dead (I guess that really depends on the season). As long as there are plenty people at the bar at night and pool, it would work.
Looking for Hollywood Beach, Florida Oceanfront Hotel? My family and I are planning a vacation preferably in Hollywood. I lived there for about 3 months back when I was about 11 years old (back in '92, culminating with Hurricane Andrew). Anyway, I've been all over the internet looking for the best match (with little luck) I was curious if anyone could suggest a hotel meeting (or at least really close) this criteria: Room for 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids ages 9 & 12). Basically 2 double beds or one queen and a pull-out couch, that would work too. Between $100-120 a night. A pool, preferably on the beach. Did I mention on the beach? lol Smoking rooms available. WiFi access. I'd really like a balcony, at least semi-waterfront. I'm not sure if every beachfront hotel is on the Broadwalk, but I'm hoping to find one near it as well. Is all of this asking too much for the price I'm looking for? I know I can get most of the things I'm looking for at the Ramada Hollywood Beach Resort, but the reviews are a little sketchy. Any thoughts on that? Thanks for any help anybody can give.
Where is the best place to stay in or near Destin, Florida? We'll be traveling to Destin, FL in early April. There will be 7 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 9 to 1. We're interested in a house, condo, or resort with easy beach access. Pools, activities, and close proximity to other attractions a plus. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Private Beach Resorts in USA? I've been looking everywhere, but all of them seem to NOT be private, or secluded, I'm looking to spend about $1500 on the hotel for 7 nights. I've been looking into Florida, and Hawaii seems too expensive but if there are any there also, maybe California, and any others if you know of any great ones. 10 points for best suggestion. Thanks for your help.
What is the best way to get from Orlando to Daytona Beach without renting a car? Me and 9 of my friends are going to Orlando, Florida for 2 weeks, and we definately want to make a trip to Daytona Beach. Now, renting a car seems like a great option. Oops, we are all aged 19 and 20... not old enough to rent a car. There is one or two companies that offer vehicles to 18+, but being from Canada, and also being broke, the ridiculous surcharges that we would have to pay make it not worth it. We would probably have to rent 2 seperate vehicles too as they would not allow us to rent a 10 passenger van. So we have scratched renting a vehicle. Is there any good shuttle services in Orlando that offer a 10 passenger van service from Disney Property to Daytona Beach, how does it work, when should we book it, and who should we contact about doing this. Do we simply pay for the ride + gratuity, or would there be other fees involved? Any other options that keep the cost low would be helpful. There is 10 of us and we are at Disney's Pop Century Resort.
best quick , fun , relatively cheap vacay( drive to beach? resort? cruise?)? I NEED a vacation for me and my girl , we havent gone anywhere all this year primarily because of cashflow, i want to be somewhere warm and preferably where there is a beach. Should i hop in the car( im in mid georgia) and head to florida? try and find a good cheap resort( rare) or a cruise? I cant help it i think the pics of the ships interior look like a 1970's disco joint all of them , any experience?what should i do?
What is the best Wyndham Resort in the continental U.S.A.? we have a leisure package and 189000 pts. i was wondering what is the best resort we can go to with a family of 6, i'd look for a 5 nights to a full week. we were thinking Star Island in florida, or daytona beach, or bonnet creek for 5 days. 16 minutes ago - 4 days left to answer.
I want to get a job as a food and beverage director at a beach resort. What is the best option education wise? I'm thinking of going to a junior college for a 2 year degree in hospitality management. I am also considering going to U. of West Florida for a 4 year degree in the same field. If I go to UWF would it be worth the extra time. I have 8 years bar-tending experience, inventory experience and made the bar schedule at a multi-million dollar a year restaurant as well as handling all of the marketing and ordering for almost 4 years. I just don't have any real managerial experience. If anyone could offer advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Where is the best beach for a family vacation? I am looking for the best beach for a family vacation. We have done the whole Florida thing so that is out! I want: clear water, soft (prefer white) beach, nice waters for swimming. Mostly we just want to lay on the beach for a week! Scenery is most important! We won't be doing any scuba diving, rock climbing or anything crazy. But maybe some deep sea fishing, whale watching, or something like that. I wouldn't mind staying at a resort but we want to keep it pretty reasonable.I have been searching and have come up with Maui, Kauai, Riviera Maya, Freeport or Puerto Rico. Let me know where you think would be best!!! BTW: if it helps we want to go in early May. Ok, I have also done Myrtle Beach. No offense but I really don't find it that relaxing of a beach. As for the beach itself, it isn't the prettiest, Pensecola beats Myrtle Beach hands down! Let's just skip the entire Southern Part of America as I have been there, done that. I want somewhere a little more exotic.
Can you recommend a Florida resort/hotel/condo for us? My family and my best friends family want to go to Florida for a week in August. She and her husband and me and my husband are in our forties. Our kids are 17-20. We want something beachfront for sure. Perferably 3 or 4 star, with a pool, and close to bars, shopping and etc that the kids can walk to but not somewhere inappropriate for us old farts. Something relaxing in the day and party at night. We were thinking Daytona Beach, Miami, or Panama Beach. Please help!!!
Where are some good places to vacation in Florida? My boyfriend and I are interested in a romantic weekend getaway, but we're not sure where to go. We live in Florida and are going to take our dog (a pug), so any place that is pet friendly would be best. We're not really interested in going out on the town or anything, but rather, just enjoying time in a nice resort or beach or something. Any ideas?
Best hidden secrets of the Florida keys? I've been in and out of there several times this past year and a half, I'm really enamored with the keys. I already stumbled into the Bahia Honda state park, and thought it one of the most gorgeous and serene parts of America. Are there any other places that take your breath away like that, a little off the main highway? Key West is fun, but I'm talking about the lesser known places a little north of that... What is the most beautiful, remote resort or lodge? What is the best park, or beach (even if you can only get there by boat)? What is the best random kitsch store? Best food and best key lime pie?
whats the best resort in the United States through Interval International Timeshare? My husband and I are going on vacation for our first wedding anniversary, and my parents in law are letting us use there Interval International Timeshare. We can pick anywhere that Interval International offers, but we would like to stay in the States. We were thinking of maybe going to North Carolina or possibly Georgia. We are going in June. We are not limited to those two states, we are up for any suggestions in any state that Interval International offers...we would love feedback from other Int. intern. resorts people have stayed at. Anyone ever use any interval Intern. resorts in Florida that are really nice? has anyone ever stayed at Bald Head Island in North Carolina? Typee Island in Georgia? Myrtle Beach? Hilton Head? Again these are just a few to through out, but would like recommendations for other places if you had good experiences! Thanks so much in advance!!!
what are the best vacations spots in florida that are very private? im looking into a few possible vacation spots in florida for next year. i was recently in florida for a wedding and enjoyed it so much that i want to go back. so next year im planning on going back to florida hopefully for a real vacation, but i dont exactly know where in florida. so im looking for a place by the beach, lots of privacy, very nice rooms, and etc. so basically, all i want is a luxury room with a beach view that is secluded and private for me and my bf. the only place i have found is, the south seas island resort in captiva island florida. its beautiful and i most likely will pick that for our vacation spot unless i can find something better. so is there something better?

Where is the best place for young people (mid-late 20's) to go in Florida? My boyfriend and I are looking into a Florida vacation, probably closer to end of summer/early fall. My grandmother lives near Ft. Myers and as much as I love her, I know what is near her-all the old, retired people. I am 21 and my boyfriend is 29. We want to soak up the sun and go out at night. I have heard bad about Miami, like you cannot leave to resorts or you'll get mugged and no one speaks english. I want to go somewhere where there is nightlife, nice beaches, and everything is not commercialized.
Which Disney resort is better? I am going to Florida and I was wondering which one is the best resort out of Coronado Springs, Beach Club, and Port Orleans.
Can you help me eat on my trip to Florida?? Please put the number and where i should eat (and why if you have a specific reason i should know). Do as many as you can - even if you just have one that will really help. (Best answer is picked upon quality, not quantity - but quanity DOES help) 1.) lunch at seaworld 2.) lunch at universal studios 3.) lunch at islands of adventure 4.) lunch at magic kingdom 5.) dinner at epot 6.) dinner at universal citywalk 7.) dinner at downtown disney 8.) ANY meal at the coronado springs 9.) ANY meal at the carribean beach resort 10.) ANY meal at the pop century resort For the three hotels i listed above we are not sure which hotel we are staying at... but its only for one night because we are staying in my family's condo the rest of the time and we like to try out a new hotel everytime we go down there. Oh yeah, please dont suggest the disney dining plan - we are eating most breakfast and dinner at our condo so its not really worth it - i checked already. But it IS very useful when you stay and eat every meal there for a week.

Best vacation spot for young couple in Southeast U.S.? (Orlando/Miami too far)? I want to have a 1-2 night getaway with my boyfriend this weekend, some place peaceful but fun if we desired it. We are in Atlanta, GA so I was hoping we could drive somewhere within 6 hours from us. I originally thought the best place would be Hilton Head in SC which is only about 5 hours away, but when I was checking out the website, it seems like it caters to 40+ ages. We are in our early 20's and don't really care about going to nice restaurants or golfing. We would either want a place with lots of nightlife, or a nice resort to stay at and spend all of our time. Didn't seem like there were many resorts at Hilton Head. Are we going to be forced to go to Florida? Is there anywhere else good to go? Destin? Myrtle Beach? Any hidden treasures in GA? Thanks!!!
Favorite Hotel? What is the best hotel that you have ever stayed at on a vacation? My favorite is Ocean Walk Resort in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Our budget is limited - around $5-7,000, but we're open to all suggestions. Thank you. Also, a nice bar would be nice...preferably, swim-up or on the beach if that's possible.

Where can we stay in Florida that has beach chairs/umbrellas/cabanas and beverage service on the beach? My boyfriend and I are planning a long weekend at a Florida beach in late September. Looking for a hotel/resort on the Gulf side (prettier beaches) where we can sit under an umbrella on the beach and have someone deliver tropical drinks to us (or at least have an outside bar we could walk up to). We'd like to keep it around $150/night. It doesn't sound that difficult, but we haven't had much luck finding a location that fits the bill. Any suggestions?

Quiet beach resort for honeymoon in Florida? My Fiance and I are starting to look at places to honeymoon. We are getting married August 16th 2008. We want to go to Florida. We are thinking of doing 5-6 days in Orlando and go to Disney (he's been tons, I've never been) and then possibly staying at a beach resort/hotel for another 5-6 days. We may also think of doing the beach resort first, let everything soak in, relax from the wedding craziness and then do Disney. We know where we want to stay in Disney, but we're clueless when it comes to beaches in Flordia. Any suggestions? We're open to anything, we'd like something quiet and secluded right on the beach! TIA!
Looking for a resort in southern Florida that's affordable and has a wedding package, right on the beach.? Think Bahamas but not. lol I'm not too familiar with Florida. I've been to Orlando and Cocoa Beach. I did not like Cocoa Beach. We originally wanted to go to the Bahamas to get married, but some of my family cannot do the trip. We want to stay at a resort that isn't overcrowded with children...I love them, but I want it to be romantic, and less children the better. I am also looking for locations that have clear water, white sand, waves, and of course...tons of activities. If any of you have suggestions for resorts that you've been married at or not, please, we need all the help we can get. I only expect at most 15-20 guests, but I want the cost to stay at a minimum. I'm also looking for a place that supplies a good photographer, as photography is an obsession of mine. Our budget will probably be about $5-7,000. And the wedding won't be for another year, or year and a half.
