What beaches in South Carolina have beautiful clear blue water? I want to go on vacation in South Carolina this year. I went when I was younger and remember a white sand beach and clear light blue water, but the pictures of Myrtle Beach don't show that. Does anyone have any places that are great for vacation and have a more tropical feel [a boardwalk would be great!]?

Periods and Beaches: Sharks? (South Carolina)? OK, so I'm going to South Carolina in 3 days. Most likely I will have my period. Yay. We will be going to the beach. Myrtle Beach, (and Charleston area) actually. There really aren't a lot of reported attacks, but there was a very recent case, like, a week ago at Myrtle. So, before, I was excited because if I happened to leak, nobody would see it. But, now I'm worried the sharks will. I will be wearing a tampon, but I'm still freaked out because after researching, there are about as many negative sides as there are positive. ( the positive is along the lines of "there isn't any proof") and the negative, well, you can guess. I'm looking for experience, gals!
