Why are people willing to pay for New Jersey beaches? For economics class we have to pose a question and find a solution through the economic principles. For instance: "Why are child safety seats required in planes and not on airplanes?" My question is: "Why are people in New Jersey willing to pay to go on the beach, when there's nicer beaches for free?" Is this a good question? How can I relate it back to economics? Guidance on starting this assignment will be appreciated.

What is the beach like in Kitty Hawk, NC compared to Southern New Jersey beaches? My family and I are going on a vacation for the first time to OBX, specifically Kitty Hawk next week. We are staying at a time share condo at 42nd street and Virginia Dare Trail. My neighbor told us that there is a stretch of beach in Kitty Hawk that is very hard to walk on because it's almost like stone. I hope this isn't where we will be. Does anyone know this area that can tell me more about it?
Please give some advice on New Jersey beaches? We're taking a week trip from Buffalo to Jersey to Brooklyn. We want to go to Jersey Beaches for the first two days. Then go to Six Flags the third. Then driving from Six Flags to Brooklyn. SO we need to know some FUN, clean, just overall nice beaches you'd recommend that are relatively close to the park. Where should we stay away from? Why? ALSO. What SUPER cheap/gross hotels are near the beach that we can stay at? Thank you! I should have specified ... On the Jersey Shore

What beaches in new jersey allow dogs ? I know I have seen dogs on beaches before in new jersey. I remember seeing signs that dogs are not allowed on the beach during the peak season which is like june -- september. which is understandable but if i go to the beach with my dog during off season like now, it should be fine right ? i just dont want to drive like 2 hours to the beach and then have to drive home. I am trying to find a phone number where I can call to see if seaside heights allows dogs or not. So this post is for people who live in new jersey, sorry.

What beaches in New Jersey allow bonfires? I'm looking to have a graduation bonfire party on the beach this summer and I'm not sure of where to have it. I know that both Island Beach State Park and Bradley Beach allow bonfires, but they both kick you out at "dusk". Does anyone know of beaches that both allow bonfires AND allow you to be there after dark?
Any cheap New York or New Jersey beaches? I have a rather large family, and we are looking to go on vacation at a New York or New Jersey beach. However, we don't have much money and don't want to spend much on it. In this economy money could be better spent elsewhere. Internet searches have shown prices ranging from $2200 (for a small two bedroom apt) to $15000 per week. These prices really are out of our price range. With up to 12 of us going, we need a large affordable place. Last year we went to Rehoboth Beach, staying in a house near the canal (comparable to if one stayed on the bay at a NJ beach town). It costs us $1300 for the week. We might go back, but the drive is long and with so many beaches in NJ/NY I figured it's worth looking. Ideally I would like a place which is large enough for at least 12 people (multiple bedrooms/bathrooms), and not more than $2000 per week. I do not mind if it is a good walk from the beach. Does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps towns to check out, or websites to look at?
What are the best beaches in northern new jersey? I live in Bergen county in northern NJ and I'm planning to hit up some beaches in a few weeks. The only beach I've ever went to here is Sandy Hook, which is fine but I was wondering if there are any better beaches I am missing out on? I'd like a beach with a minimum of spiky shells or rocks and things, not TOO cold (although all NJ beaches are cold!) and some fun things to do in the area, like a boardwalk with nice restaurants and shops.

New Jersey Beach and Motels Location Questions? My Family is taking a vacation to the beach. We're not super-wealthy so we would need a nice Motel. And it's really hard to find a good motel because the reviews are either good or bad and you don't know if you'll like the service there. Also, which beaches are nice and what beach has the cheapest entry fee. (If you're not already aware, you have to pay to enter the beach in NJ). So which beach + Motel would be the best choice. Distance doesn't matter, we just want to get there. Thanks in Advance.

Planning a trip to Jersey beaches - where are bath houses? My family wants to go to the shore this Friday. It will be a 2 hour ride to Jersey. We are from around the Philly area. This will just be a day trip. I haven't been to Stone Harbor in many years. If Stone Harbor doesn't have bath houses, what beaches (if any) along the Jersey shore do? Thanks much in advance!

How long would it take to walk from say the new jersey shore to venice beach california? basically from east coast to west coast. Not asking because I'm going to do this. Just an interesting question. I'm looking for the best possible answer. Please take your time with it, look up mileages and take into consideration that you or I would be walking at a medium pace for 15 hours a day. Eating while I was walking. Giving myself 9 hours left after walking all day to set up sleep, then sleep, prepare food for next day, bowel movements, stretching, etc. This can be figured out. Lets see who's up to the challenge. I said best answer possible. It is calculable.
What is the best beach to stay in LBI in New Jersey? We are looking for a place to stay in Long Beach Island for Memorial Day weekend. However, we would like an area with plenty of nightlife but nothing too trashy. I know that lot of LBI is more for families then young couples or singles in their twenties. Any suggestions on good beaches for us.
Why do dumb idiots who dont live in new jersey feel the need to make fun of it and its ppl? Ohkay. And i make this thing about you shouldnt be saying things like that and then some ppl like dink have to go and be a....well you know....lol
Looking for any shortcut / quicker way to Myrtle Beach SC from New Jersey? The resort is on 74th ST Myrtle Beach. Currently I follow the below directions Traveling south bound on I-95, take Exit 193/Highway 9 just past the South of the Border facilities. Highway 9 will merge into Highway 17 as you are entering the North Myrtle Beach area. Most North Myrtle Beach areas you will travel to will require you to continue straight past Highway 17 toward the Atlantic Ocean or turn right on Highway 17 to go toward Main Street.
