I used to live in Queensland, but found it far to boring, so moved back to Sydney! Anyone relate to that ? Don't get me wrong, I love Qld, apart from State of Origin time! You have some of the best beaches in the world up there and a really laid back lifestyle and exceptionally good value compared to living in Sydney. However even with one of the worlds best beaches - Mooloolabah, I still missed Sydney and Bondi Beach ! Your thoughts ? PS. Happy Australia Day Long Weekend!
Why should people visit Bondi Beach? Well I have to make a travel brochure as a assignment for humanities and this is what I got so far for Why people should visit Bondi Beach. Throughout the beaches in Australia, Bondi is the most visited beach out there. Bondi is also well known all around the world for the one kilometre long, sandy beach as well as the surf. It is a popular tourist attraction, so in summer the beach is filled with thousands of people. The beach is patrolled by professional lifeguards who would be there at the sign of danger and make sure swimmers stay between the yellow and red flags. Your visit at Bondi would feel safe at all times. Not only that but there are cafes and restaurants nearby, so you could enjoy a swim and head out to eat somewhere close by. There are also accommodations nearby so you could have a comfortable stay with a great ocean view. Bondi is located in Sydney, New South Wales on the south east coast… Now I don't even know what to write any suggestions on how to fix and improve this? :D

Bondi or Coogee Beach? Next semester I'm going to be studying at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, and I can either be accommodated at Bondi Beach or Coogee Beach. What was Indian team doing at BONDI BEACH holmes? How did it help towin the Perth match holmes ? Orale vato! Hakuna Matata! I am very very sure holmes that visiting BONDI BEACH is the reason why India did it otherwise we all know holmes that winning at Perth was impossible for them. They played beach bolleyball at BONDI BEACH and that helped them becasue holmes you know that mood was not great in Indian camp after Sydney fiasco. I think the visit to BONDI BEACH helped them mentally a lot holmes. They enjoyed there a lot so they became happy hgolmes, they became happy. What you think holmes? What the did at BONDI BEACH ? And don't you think that every team should visit BONDI BEACH before playing a test match in Australia? Viva La Raza!!!!

What are my chances of becoming a lifeguard at Bondi Beach? Hi there! I'm interested in becoming a lifeguard or marine biologist....i would like to go to Australia for college (thinking about James cook University) And depending on how things go i might want to become a lifeguard instead of a marine biologist (maybe at bondi beach, maybe another beach) Im a very good swimmer; i've been swimming since i was two years old and i am on two swim teams (one for my school, one for a club team) Im a surfer, and i just got my scuba diving license. So i guess you could say im like a fish haha. Anyways, I had never really thought about becoming a lifeguard until the past couple weeks, since i started watching a show called Bondi Rescue on youtube (i dont live in australia; i live in California, but i really like australia it just seems like the perfect place for me; great beaches, great marine life/various animals, and here in california everyone is obsessed with looks and celebrities and what not...and it seems like people in australia dont really think like that; you can tell me if im wrong haha). I read that you have to have various types of certifications in order to become a lifeguard at bondi beach, or other beaches, which i could accomplish..but im only 15, and if i do get all the certifications and move to australia when im like 18 or 19, do you think i would have a good chance of becoming a lifeguard (at Bondi or any other beach)? Also, im a girl, which, i know only one girl is a lifeguard at bondi, so does that affect my chances as well? One more thing; if you have time, and youre in the mood to answer a lot of questions, i have a couple other questions about Australia; but you dont have to answer these if you dont want to... 1. do you generally refer to the fall season as 'fall' or 'autumn'? 2. About how long would it take someone to go from Townsville, Australia to Sydney, Australia...(hours, minutes, etc)? Please provide as much info as possible about the question/ any other info about australia. Thank you for reading this, and thanks so much to everyone who answers! :)
Should I move to Manly or Bondi Beach? I am moving to a Sydney from the US in a couple months and am trying to figure out where exactly I should live. I am definitely keen on the idea of living in a beach neighborhood - and Manly and Bondi are the 2 beaches that I hear about the most! I need some more info and help on deciding which one would be a better fit for me (or if you think there is a better beach area than those 2, let me know as well)...here are some things to factor into my decision: - Commute. The shorter my commute to work is, the better (obviously!) I almost definitely wouldn't want to have a commute more than an hour, and a 45-minute or especially a half-hour commute would be nice. My office will be in North Sydney (5 Blue Street to be exact). I'm not sure I would have a car, so my commuting options would either be a ferry, bus, or train. - Type of people. While I like to go out and have fun, I am a little bit more down-to-earth, so I might not like a beach that is overly pretentious or trendy. From what I've read so far, Manly might be better than Bondi in this regard, but I wouldn't mind more insight on this. - Things to do. I definitely want an area that has a pretty good amount of nightlife, restaurants, shops, sports and beach activities, etc. - Also, other things to consider: I am 30 years old but still like to go out a decent amount at night - but am hoping for an area that has a great nightlife but with a lot of young professionals in their mid-late 20s or early 30s....and not dominated by students and other people in their young 20s. Also, it wouldn't hurt if the suburb I'm in I can get to other fun areas of the city pretty easily. Thanks for your help! Any specifics as to why you think one beach would be a better fit for me, over the other beach, I would greatly appreciate!!! :)

Top things on my to-do / to-see list when I visit Sydney? Hi all, I'm going with my partner to Sydney for 3 weeks in January / Februrary. So I can plan ahead, what's the best things that should go on my to-do / to-see list. I'll be based in Sydney for the duration, and probably won't be wanting to travel too far (perhaps a day-trip is the max). So far got to see the sydney opera house (not too interersted about seeing something inside), blue mountains, bondi beach & surfing, harbour bridge, 360 tower.... more suggestions please :) Thanks, DJ :)

Day 1 Begins early 8am ish, head to Darling Harbour, check out the Royal Botanical Gardens, Art Gallery of New South Wales, shops, restaurant the opera house, walk over the harbour bridge (not doing the climb, on a tight budget. Cost: $14.00 ASD Manly Ferry Day 5 Back to the beach, from central station take the 374 bus to Coogee Beach (no transfers right?) head to Coogee, walk to Bondi Beach. How frequent are Shark attacks & sightings in America, compared to Australia? Just wondering if US beaches are often closed due to Shark attacks or Shark sightings, we have a pretty high shark population in Australian waters, recently a Navy Diver was attacked in Sydney Harbour & lost a leg & arm, a Tourist was attacked while surving at Bondi Beach & it seems every year someone is attacked in Western Australian waters or in Queensland waters by a Great White. I don't think its as bad here as it in off Cape Town, South Africa, but what about the USA?

Can anyone recommend some nice places to see in Australia? I'm going to visit my friend in Sydney for 15-20 days, and we're both college girls looking for some sun and fun. We've decided to hang around Sydney (Bondi Beach and such), and then go to Melbourne, maybe check out the Ulruru rock. If you had an itinerary like mine, how would you go about it? Would you drive to Melbourne, or fly there? What would you do in Sydney? Do you think going to Ayer's Rock is worth the time and money? By the way, my budget is around 2000-3500 AUS dollars, though I don't know if this is being practical or not. Your input would be greatly appreciated (and probably followed!)! Thanks! We like shopping, maybe do some crazy things (on the safe side), watch the sunset, sort of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants kind of stuff, fyi.
Places to go in Sydney? Going to Sydney + Gold Coast for a month in November, and would like to know if there's any tourist attractions I've missed? I have been to both places before, but I'm wondering what I haven't explored and should. I'm staying on Bondi, and I know all about Bondi beach + junction so no need to suggest that one. ;D Is there anywhere in particular I should go to other than QVB/Luna park/Opera house? Can someone give me a little more info about the Opera house too please? I just want to go have a look inside, does it cost? I've been to the aquarium, didn't find it that interesting. :/ Are there any good stops on the monorail? Thanks so much. :)

See Sydney In 4 Days? Is it possible? (CLick here: More Follow up questions)? Would it be better if we go with a Tour like with a tour guide or just explore with no tour guide? Is it smart to leave out the Sydney Tower In our itinerary? If yes what could somewhat replace ? The visit of Sydney Tower? Are any of the beaches worth visiting even if it's winter, not necessarily to swim? And possibly the Bondi to Coogee Walk? For People from a different country, How much layers of clothing do you suggest? At the Very least?
Best things to do in Syndey, NSW? I will be travelling to Sydney at the end of Jan. I already have planned to see Opera house, harbour bridge, aquarium, taronga zoo, bondi beach. Is there anything else that is good to see?

Help!! Young couple moving to Sydney from uk? Hi, Me n my boyfriend are moving to Sydney n aug, we're both mid 20s with no major commitments, so looking to have the time of our lives. We were originally considering moving to Melbourne due to my career, ladieswear designer but have been since recommended that Sydney is Auz's fashion district. We're looking for a pretty, trendy sort of area, nice restaurants, shops with night life at a stones throw. Kinda metropolitan feel. We also really like the idea of living near the beach but keep getting told to avoid Bondi n Coogee as they heavily geared towards tourists and are a bit tacky.... Is this true? We're completely open to any suggestions cos at the minute we're very confused...Help!
I am a 23 f moving to Sydney from California. Where can I go online to look at classifieds for housing? hey. My name is Diana, I am 23 year old female fashion student who will be studying Fashion over at UTS in downtown. I will be in Sydney for at least a year with the possibility of extending it another year. I like the beach and surfing and wanted to live in Bondi. I just don't really know where exactly I should be looking. I am very outgoing, fun, adventurous, responsible, and love to party with my friends. Could anyone out there help me? I was looking along the same lines as Craigslist or something. Thanks.
best place to live in sydney? ok here's the story: i'm moving to sydney in january for 10 months. my work is sending me up there and they will be paying my rent for me. unfortunately, work is in hurstville and the two times i've been up there...frankly, it's a hole. the time it takes to get to work each day isn't a big factor as it currently takes me an hour to do so here in melbourne. i want to live near a nice beach and good public transport. i've been thinking about bondi because it's on the same train line, but i've heard good things about coogee. thoughts?

Why was there a man dressed as "Darth Vader" following the Pope around at Bondi Beach today? Why do some idiots want to ruin everything, i'm not even Catholic, but why do some fools want to run around the beaches and cities handing out condoms as a protest against the Pope being in Sydney? I thought new laws were passed forbidding people to demonstrate aginst the Pope's arrival here oh well not real 'constitutional' is it?.....
Where should I travel around Australia.. And WHY? I'm currently living in Gold Coast, Australia until July 1st becuase I'm studying abroad. I came here with the intention of traveling all over Australia and maybe Fiji and New Zealand.. but now i'm asking myself, what's the point?? I'm going to Sydney in a couple weeks because i've always wanted to checkout the opera house, bondi beach, etc.. but besides that, I just don't see the point. Here in Gold Coast, we have really nice beaches, so many great nightclubs, cool shopping, I'm never bored here. I LOVE THE GOLD COAST!! So anyway, why would I want to travel anywhere else? What could I find somewhere else in Australia that I can't find right here in Gold Coast? For example, why should I visit Melbourne? Fiji? Newcastle?.. if you can think of a convincing reason i'll probably go, I just want the motivation in my mind to know I'm traveling for another reason then to just check out another beach or another nightclub. Thanks!!!
Looking for Dawes Leuluai, my Samoan Friend.? Dawes was a very good friend of mine- We lost contact about 6 months ago. He is (I think) still living in Sydney. Gorgeous 33yr old Samoan guy- born in New Zealand (Wellington). Was living with mates on Bondi Beach, doing boiler-maker work. Please, if you know anything about his whereabouts, tell him 'his bubsy' is desperately looking for him.
