My husband and I are looking to take a week vacation in the Caribbean coming this Feb. or early March (need to escape the cold weather is Illinois!) Suggestions for a unique, laid-back, artistic, cultural Caribbean beach village? Similar to San Jose del Cabo? I am planning to travel to the Caribbean in either early or late May 2009. I went to San Jose del Cabo last year & fell in love with the atmosphere- the town square with several streets that led to many shops, art galleries, casual as well as upscale restaurants, etc. It felt classy, while authentic & rustic. I would like to find another place that compares to this, but in the Caribbean. It can be any of the islands (except Cuba :/ & preferably not too far south) or on the Caribbean coast of Mexico. I'd like it not to be very large or extremely touristy, but not completely isolated. In addition to the town having unique, charming character, it must be beautiful with white sand beaches & teal blue water. The key is CHARM, CHARM, CHARM & AMAZING natural beauty! I've been researching like crazy, pleasepleasePLEASE share any suggestions & experiences you have!! I really appreciate it so much!!! I'd also like to find a fun nightlife in the town, or atleast near by. Costa Rica... best beach/jungle combo? I am heading down to Costa Rica in May for 10 days. The last 2 times I went were spent on the Osa Peninsula. Those trips were mostly spent hiking and looking for snakes, which was a blast. This time I am taking my boyfriend (who is not a herper). He is excited just to be on the beach, and visit a different country for the first time. I want to make it special for him! I am wondering if anyone knows of the perfect place to bring him. It must be on the coast, have beautiful beaches (preferably with the jungle right behind it- for me!) I know he said he prefers white sand beaches, but it doesn't matter. I would also prefer a quiet place that's not swarming with tourists, especially families, because it is to be a nice romantic vacation. Any help would be appreciated! I have tried to do my research, but I haven't really found anything too useful! Any recommended lodges would be a plus too. (I don't want to stay in a "holiday inn" type hotel, but he requires hot water ;) Lol... hot water in the showers in the lodge. ;) Looks like Puerto Viejo it is! Family Trip across Australia DILEMMA!? Ok here it is, I'm freshly 18, am about to finish year 12 (final year of school), have worked my ass off all year to get a 4 digit figure that will determine the uni i end up at. So this is my first summer out with no school to go back to and my parents are giving me an option.... They are going across the continent with the family and I can either go with them (don't get me wrong i love these trips they are great fun, u see stuff no1 will ever get to see in their lifetime eg beautiful waterfalls, remote beaches with white sand and blue water...basically trip f your lifetime), ORR i can have a free house for 2 weeks f the summer, which means getting drunk LOTS, girls stay over, all the mental stuff..... Beach Weddings in Florida? Hi, I am looking to get married this February in Florida. My boyfriend and I are just going to drive down, get married, and have our honeymoon. We just want something simple although we are looking for a great resort that does weddings there. Help in choosing a good city and beach destination after mexico? hi guys, i am all confused and unsure. a young couple in 25s.from Ontario (Canada)..looking for once lifetime experience...already did mexico, playa del carmen for one week, amazing beautiful white sand powdery beach and luxurious beach side hotel and relaxation, like a dream come true. But, we got bored after few days as doing the same everyday, plus we dont do any water activities (no snorkeling, diving, sailing. etc...) plus we cant hike or run or walk tooo long hours, health reasons. We did one excursion to some zoo type parc and it was fun , different culture and animals to see. Now we are back for antother last big vacation in mid-February for 10-12 days. I am still dreaming of mexico, but dont wanna repeat it. I get bored easily with repeatitive things and i want this time again something to astound me, shock me, like something i do or see that i wont easily forget, something special nowhere found in the world, like wow! so i want the same beach experience but plus some sight seeing of city or attractions that i will remember. Any suggestions? No budget restrictions...(but no celebrity luxury!) I browsed through a lot of informaiton and pcitures but still confused, and i narrowed it down to those destinations if it could help: 1. South Africa (cape town and durban) + or - Mauritius: beaches dont look that nice as mexico, thats the problem to me, but there are a lot of things to do very special and out of the world. Mauritius beach looks like mexico beach. But it is all Africa 2. Australia: I heard that Bondi beach, white haven and great barrier reef beaches are beautiful. But saw the pics, it is golden beach and i am not sure how nice it would be. Don;t know anything about if interesting, different things to do in Australia? 3. Tunisia: Somebody told me some aprts of tunisia has clear blue water and white sand beach (i think Djerba island)...but have no idea if it is true and as nice as other beaches and if there are enough interesting unique things to do and see there...and plus the weather..would it be warm enough in february... 4. last but not least: Carribean islands or thailand ( specifically Hawaii, Bahamas, Belize, phuket/phi phi): Beaches garanteed would be beautifull except Hawai, i saw it is different type of beaches, more golden..rough...thailand very nice beaches on pics but not sure if i wanna be in the thai culture and jsut visit temples and shopping!!! other carribeans islands not much to do besides beaches except water activities...and very common and similar to typical hotel and mexico type chilling... I need to decide soon...want to spend few days on beach and then challenge my brain with sightseeing...

Honeymoon destination advice? My fiance and I are trying to find a good destination for our honeymoon for the types of things we are looking for. We both want this to be a RELAXING and ROMANTIC honeymoon......white sand beaches, crystal blue water and beautiful day-life. We're not big partiers, so we're not really looking for something so live...something small is okay..like if we were staying at a resort and they had nightly shows or something or something different to do...not just "clubbing." Need Barbados hotel help!!? I have finally chose Barbados over Aruba, but have done minimall research on places to stay in Barbados. I was lookinng at the Crane resort (which has a white-pink sand beach, right?) but didn't know if there was any shopping/restaurants nearby. Is there anyone out there, like me? i get a natural high- whole happiness, peaceful feeling, eyes at half mast- when i see something beautiful in my opinion. This is things like nature, pictures of scenery from a different country- white sand beaches with light blue water, small skinny paved streets in a heavily populated city- things like that. ever since i was young, i had an appreciation of the appearance of things- while walking to school, i remember looking at a daisy in the ground, popping out from long grass with dew all over it, shining in the sun- and though it was a weed, i thought it looked beautiful. i guess that's why i have such a passion in tourism, not because of the fun only, but the beauty in the sights and even beauty from the little things. i'm a bit like a person who loves art, and can stare at a piece for hours, appreciates it and never gets bored. last night, when we were driving home from grocery shopping, staring out the window i thought that the houses down the streets were so beautiful......... …. - those homey comfortable looking ones and I would imagine myself owning one of those homes, pulling up in the driveway in my late 20’s with a smile in my face thinking of how nice it was to arrive to such a beautiful welcoming home. And they looked so nice, lit up orange from the lampost lights. As you can see, I also have a very vivid imagination, which also explains why I have a passion for writing as well and dreaaaam of writing a best selling novel in my spare time, and as a day time job managing my own tourism-related companies. Am I weird? Is there anyone out there who is a bit like me, appreciates things that they see, even the little things, and has an imagination?

Tell me what you think of this? I wrote this piece. Tell me what you think: I enter the sanctuary, running my fingers along the light cherry wood on the walls. I nod silently as fellow congregants wish me a “Shabbat Shalom.” My eyes are drawn to the flicker of the just lit candles. Tonight the bima seems especially beautiful. Two bouquets of wild flowers adorn either side of the elaborately carved wooden ark. In my mind I can see through the wood doors the eight richly dressed Torahs that hold the sacred ancient texts. The sanctuary is nearly filled. Chatter slowly subsides as the first chords of the opening melody drift down from the choir loft. I exchange and excited smile with my friend as we sit. This is my favorite place to be – the place I could stay forever: Temple on a Friday night. The cantor begins with my favorite song, Sim Shalom, a prayer for peace and happiness. The words are just so fitting. “A song of peace – how good it is to be together.” The song starts as a slow, gorgeous melody, and quickly accelerates to a fast paced, hand-clapping beat. Spontaneously, I smile. I am swept up in the song, in the moment. I have forgotten all the angst of the past week – the tests, the pressure; all my responsibilities seem to disappear. The music stops. The Rabbi prepares the congregation for silent prayer. I close my eyes and I pray. I pray for my friends, who are going through difficult times. I pray for peace in Israel. I pray for my family, and I pray for myself. My eyes still closed, I feel that peaceful bliss was over me like the ocean washing over the sands at the beach. I hear the soft, strained plucking of a lone guitar breaking the silence. Voices join the guitar in a soft sweet melody drawing me out of my dream-like state. At the conclusion of the service, everyone crowds to the exit. I hold back for a moment, taking one last look at the melting white candles, realizing that no matter what the week brings, I can always look forward to Friday night services. Which North Carolina beach should we vacation at? I've been to Destin Florida and it was beautiful but now we're going to on vacation a little closer to home. I figure North Carolina is a good spot for nice beaches that isn't terribly far away from home (Ohio). I've been searching on the web but so many names come up. Can anyone help?
