Best exercises for a man getting ready to hit the Australian beaches? I am 180lbs, 6'2", male, looking for exercises that will get me ready for the beach. I really just want to improve my chest and arms, and reduce my waist a bit. What exercises would be the most effective? I only have a short amout of time (I have 2 months until my trip). Currently, I only do 1.5 hours of cardio a week.
Are Australian Beaches Topless? Are women allowed to be topless on the beaches in Australia? Are there many public beaches that are set aside for topless or even nude swimming?
Best Australian Beaches? I'll be staying in Sydney, Australia for about 1-week and would love to know about some great beaches. I've heard good things about Bondi Beach, Coogee Beach, Palm Beach, Manly Beach, etc... Looking for a peaceful, serene, not packed full of tourists, gorgeous waters beach. Some insight is much appreciated! Thank you!
Are Australian beaches/waters better than in the Caribbean? I am an avid diver and have only been to Caribbean islands. I'm in love with the Grand Caymans and Cozumel, but have always dreamed of diving in Australia. For anyone who has experienced both, what are your opinions? I'm not looking for good surf...just amazing diving! Of course I want to dive the Great Barrier Reef, but are there many other wonderful locations? I'm moving to Australia for a year and will likely begin in Sydney for a few months and then probably head to the Queensland area. I love nothing more than soft white sand beaches and crystal clear waters!!! :)
Should womens topless sunbaking on Australian beaches be banned? Forget Israel, we have a real plight here, the Politicians are attempting to ban womens topless bathing & sunbaking on Australias beaches! In a way I can see why, they are public beaches, not 'closed beaches' and they can be distracting, I wonder how many fights have later errupted because some selfish chick wanted to flaunt it? Quite a few I believe, although some of the Sweedish Backpackers at Bondi are hard to resist giving a 2nd glance. bb, its more important to us here, believe me! I'm of to the beach....we just don't care for Jews or Arabs here.
Do you think the beaches/tropical weather is nice in Thailand? I'm American born in Hawaii but have some Thai ancestry and while visiting Thailand I have to say that the beaches there in Phuket were arguably even better than many Hawaiian and Australian beaches and a lot cheaper too almost like a traveler's secret.
How British is Australian culture? As an avid Argentine tourist I plan on visiting Australia in two months. One of my friends told me that Australian culture is very British. He said that Australians use almost the exact same words that the British use with a few ideosyncratic Australianisms here and there. He also mentioned that they tend to engage in similar activities such as rugby, cricket, beer drinking, self-deprecating humour, golf, etc. Another opinion that my friend has of Australia is that it is like a British society built in a hot dry land with beaches. So, how British is Australia?
Australian Beach Volleyball Research!? Can any one give me some websites with good info about Australian Beach volleyball to help answer some of the following questions. How are males and females being treated in beach volleyball aus.? How these differences are effecting the younger generation? please do not suggest ausport.com as i already have discovered some good info. I need more resources! Thanks
How far from the coast does the average Australian live? Bit of a strange question, but being a nation that appears to have quite a strong beach culture, it begs one to ask, in general, how far does the average Australian live from the coast? Within 30 mins? Or more like an hour+?
What is the song sung in the Australian movie Newcastle? There is a song in the Australian movie named 'Newcastle' that is sung when all the teenagers are driving to the beach. Some of the words include: "I don't want no complications, I don't need no obligations..." etc. I've tried finding it on google but I can't seem to locate it! Help!

Can the Australian sun literally turn you black? I've always been pale white. But I went to beaches a lot in my life, and I'm very black. I look like an African. Why is the Aussie sun so strong and intense? My questions are stupid? So is your ingorant answer and your nickname. Boots? Haha, your brain is empty, can't you think of a better one?
Does anyone share my experience with Australian tourist information? Be wary of what they advertise. For example, they'll say Brisbane has the world's best beaches. Truth is doesn't have any, except for a poky strip of man-made sand next to a polluted river, and nothing else for 100km, apart from Redcliffe which would be a disppointment even in England! Further north you can't swim in the sea in summer because a jellyfish sting can kill you in 20 minutes. Australia is no paradise! The place is a cultural wasteland.
I want to redo my room to get a cool careless fun atmosphere, like a summer Australian beach atmosphere, HELP? i want my room to have a really cool calm and collect vibe to it. i want it simple but nice and not something ill get sick of. i was thinking like australian beach but i want plain colored walls. idk what color to do though...it doesnt neccessarily have to be beach themed, but with that kind of careless fun free vibe of summer. and any ideas on bed spreads/decorations would be great too! i have dark wood furniture that i have to keep, besides that i can change everything im a 15 year old girl thank you!!! ps i put this in this category because no one answered it in decorating hha i cant only do solid color walls

Which Australian city would you recommend to migrate to? I´m planning to move abroad and just took the quiz to get an Australian visa and passed. Why do Australian teenagers like to fight so much? I'm not too sure if it's been over hyped by the news but almost every person that is robbed, stabbed , beaten or beaten TO death is done by the teenagers? so what gives? mind you the majority of these attacks by teenagers are done around night clubs, parties, beaches and some train stations. and also i believe Britain is similar like this too i think. So what causes all of this? and do any other countries have this problem.
what kinds of plants and animals? i'm doing a project for Marine Biology and i have to compare and contrast the plants and animals that live in the intertidal zones of Puget sound and australia. i can find stuff for the puget sound, but i'm having trouble finding what kinds of plants and animals live on australian beaches...can you please help me?
Which Australian City is most like Toronto? ****which Australian city is most like Toronto? im looking into moving to Australia for a year but i don't know which one. Can anyone give me a little blurb about each of the cities and what they are like. I'm wondering which ones are most like Toronto. Which ones have the best weather and which have nice beaches? Does anyone know of a device which exists to catch Australian Beach Worms? I understand that to catch beach worms you need an old smelly fish. With which you place in a hessian bag or tie them on a rope. You then drag it over the sand at low tide to find the worms. When the worm's smell the fish, they stick their head's up from the sand. Once the worm has raised it head, you place a small piece of bait near the worm's head to get it to stick it's head out even more. As the worm rises out of the sand, you position your special worming pliers around it's head, close them, and quickly and gently pull the worm out of the sand. You can also do this with you fingers if you don't have the pliers. Beach worms vary in size from 30cm to 2.0 metre's. BUT.....has anyone ever heard of or know of a device which could do this for you??? Any help, ideas or suggestions would be thoroughly appreciated. Many Thanks, Alan
What's the name of this classic and renowned Australian music band? So my Mom is telling me about this group, she can't remember what they're called exactly, something like BJ's/BG's (?), I really have no idea. BUT ITS NOT THE BEACH BOYS. They're apparently really famous and from Australia, they've been singing for ages. They're probs in like their 50s/60s now. So yeah any ideas thankz
Any ideas for a good Australian costume? I am going to an Australian Ball and the theme is...yep you guessed it! From the Outback to the beach....so pretty much anything Australian...Any thoughts on a good (and easy) costume!??
What is song on the Australian Corona beer advertisement? This guy is on a beach sitting on his bicycle, and his (girlfriend? maybe) comes up to him with two corona beers, and they start to drink it. Then you get a shot of the beer on standing upright in the sand at the end of the ad. What is the song of this ad, it goes something like, "stars will make you feel like you have friends"
What is this Australian striped fish? I found a group of small, striped marine fish at my beach today. They were black and white striped like a zebra and were quite small, about half an inch long. They were in a tidepool in tropical North Queensland... Mackay if that helps, but yeah Australia.
Name of Movie? I need help with a fictional movie that has references to Australian historical disasters? It was on the ABC in the '80s or early '90s and has never been remade. I don't think it was ever shown on big screen. A young woman keeps almost meeting a man but the scene always then becomes that of a well known disaster. eg. when on Bondi Beach, the scene becomes that of Black Sunday when 38 people drowned. The final scene she is on the train and they finally touch (maybe kiss?) and the scene becomes the Granville train crash.
Border Collies (Australian Cattle Dogs & Shetland Sheepdogs) in Terraced Houses? Does anyone know how well the breeds mentioned above could cope in a cluttered terraced house with a small yard? I'm thinking of getting a pup sooner rather than later, & although I live next to a row of beaches, am interested in dog sports such as agility & frisbee & have the countryside within reach, I worry about the lack of space for the dog.
According to the 'beach culture' in Australia, I don't look Australian. ? I know that Australia is a multi cultural place and is a melting pot of people ... however there is still an underlying social pecking order which places the tanned/blonde/beachy individuals at the top. I'm a 21 y.o female, pale skinned dark-brunette, slender, average height. Obviously I display no imminent signs of beachiness. I basically feel no desire to continue my existence in Australia, any longer than I have to. I wish to relocate to the UK because I've been there twice to visit family and felt very 'at home'. I like cold weather, I am reserved around strangers, I like pasty skin, I like European football, I like light skinned guys with military hair. (All of these things are frowned upon in Australia's mainstream culture). I am studying nursing at university and will be 23 when i graduate. In the meantime I am a casual cashier at a supermarket for money, and I am aloof/reserved around the customers and often have customers telling me i am 'unfriendly and cold'. however, i cannot help the way i am - and when i visit england, i find cashiers act in a reserved manner without managing to attract insightful critiques of their personality. Other than my family, my friends (who also wish not to live here), I feel no connection to Australia. According to 'beach culture' I don't look very Australian and I don't 'act' Australian. What do you think?
Australian poll? BBQ meat or Cook damper and billy tea by fire Wazlta sing or We are Australian Possums or Kookaburra beach or mountain
Canadian, British or Australian women pls answer!? I tried asking this a few days ago, but didn't get crap for answers. So I'm trying again! Where do young Canadian, British or Australian women like to travel? (beach-type places) I've decided I want to go on a beach vacation and have a passionate affair with a sexy Canadian, British or Australian girl while I'm there. Where should I go to make that happen? I'm an intelligent, charming, confident, decent-looking 19-year old American university student.
Are there many spiders/snakes in Australian cities? Sounds like a stupid question, but I have relatives there and I REALLY want to go but I'm completely terrified of snakes and spiders and generally anything like that...are there many in the cities/beaches?
What do you like most and least about the climate where you live? For me I hate the cold winters (we get down to below zero regularly in winter ... and yes I know Mid-Western Americans will laugh at that!) I love our Australian summers lying on the beach slowly frying and trying to develop my skin cancers to their full potential :-S
Are you an AUSTRALIAN? Im doing an essay and I need help, could you answer the following questions. please. what makes you an Australian? what do you celebrate? whats places or spiritual/culture significance for all Australians? what would be your religious values? The link between Australian myths, legends and icons (e.g. beach, outback, mate ship and diggers) and the notion of religion in Australia .
What sports are popular in Australia? I'm moving to Australia in July, most likely in Melbourne or Brisbane. I just want to know what sports are popular in Australia. All I know is that the Australian culture is all about beaches, beer, sports, and outdoors. In the states we watch a lot of basketball and football and its the only sport I know and understand. I wanna be able to adapt to the Australian culture and learn things. Can someone tell me more about things they do and most popular sports which I should learn about.... Thanks !!
Best places to go to University/College in USA?? (i'm Australian)? I'm from Sydney, Australia, and looking to go on exchange in University to America. What are some good places to go or stay? - not only for studying but for the environment- like good beaches, fun stuff, etc.. I was thinking of something around California and Los Angeles? or anywhere else good.. Thanks for your tips
Do Australian men like curvier girls? I'm 17 years-old, a size 16, 5'4''-5'5'', and my body type is rather... uncommon, at least in Aus. I'm chubby, *naturally*. I've been a little bigger all my life. I'm relatively healthy; A strict vegan, I do yoga, and I jog. But my shape is not one I see everyday. I'm only a B cup, but I have big hips. I guess that's generally referred to as pear-shaped? Either way I rarely see women my size with small boobs. Australia is such a sport and beach orientated country. In primary school I was medically, and in my own opinion, a very healthy and normal size, yet I got bullied and tormented for almost all my school life for being "fat". I have to wonder... in America would I have been teased as much? And even now, would I be more accepted and considered more attractive? It seems to me that over there I would be perceived as pretty normal. I've generally found that people aren't very tolerant of bigger figures in Australia. You have to be thin, fit, toned, buff, blonde, in a bikini, and doing 5 sports to be attractive. Does anyone like the way I look in this country, or am I doomed if I stay here? I didn't pull this idea out of my ass. I've had two brief relationships with American men. They loved my body and claimed I am what most men are more comfortable with over in the US.. I feel as though I'll never have a chance at a relationship over here, which sucks, because for the most part I'm pretty happy. I know I am young. I'm not looking for an intense committment, don't fret. But come on... I receive absolutely NO attention here. I'm a teenager. An extremely intellectual, eclectic, interesting one at that. What chance do I have of an Australian man finding me attractive when I'm a bit older and even less desirable physically?? So, the question at hand being... are there *ANY* Australian guys out there who find curvier/bigger women attractive? Thank you. Please be nice. I know this was convoluted and rambley... it's just a distressing and confusing issue for me. I'm at the stage in my life where I want that kind of attention and intimacy. Yet it seems like I'm the only one not actually getting it, and I'm afraid that it's to do with the country I live in and it's standards of beauty. Guys, I am talking GENERALLY. I am aware that every individual is attracted to something and someone different. Like I said, so far I have gotten no male attention from an Australian male. I mean, can you blame me for making a sweeping generalisation and questioning it? Is there anyone out there who will love me for me, in my own country. Thanks.

What do you girls really want when you buy String & Thong Bikinis? I run a website that sells a wide range of "Micro" Bikini's (halcyonblue.co.uk), OK we are not Wicked Weasel but we are in the UK and try to cater for every taste not just the exhibitionists! Our bikini's are made in Brazil and really cater for the US & Australian market. What do you English girls really want? For example Bikini Bottoms: Big or as small as possible? Transparent or lined? Bikini Tops: we go up to C Cup at the moment. Do you want D cup and above? Do you want them see through when wet or keep solid? When do you wear them? Do you actually take them on holiday with you? Or are they just for the bedroom? Would you wear them at Camber Sands or at Blackpool Beach? Is patriotism important? Would you buy one with the Cross of St George on (tastefully of course); would it make a difference if they were made in England? This is a serious question for girls who like this style of swimwear, from a company serious about giving you what you want!
REASONS FOR BEING AUSTRALIAN xx funny or true xxx? Knowing your great-grand-dad was a murdering b**tard no civilized nation on earth wanted. - Fosters Lager. - Dispossess Abbos who have lived in your country for 40,000 years because you think it belongs to you. - Annihilate England every time you play them at cricket. - Tact and sensitivity. - Bondi Beach. - Other beaches. - The weather. - Drinking cold lager on the beach. - Having a bit of a swim and then drinking some cold lager on the beach.
where can i get a shower "scraper" towel replacement? A couple of years ago I saw a "scraper" on a blog. the idea was to not take a towel to the beach but to use a rubber scraper to take most of the excess water from your body. I think it was Australian. does anybody know the thing I'm talking about?
Why do you like Australia so much? Hi everyone I am an Australian and I am really happy when I read comments from so many people saying they dream of visiting/living in Australia. I love Australia but I guess because we are so isolated from the world we don't get to hear a lot of feedback about our country. So I am interested to know what it is that appeals to the international Answers community about Australia? Is it the beaches, weather, the people? To yahwoon - I did not ask why you hated Australia. I am sorry you feel this way about our country but I love the fact that we have embraced so many new cultures. It makes things more interesting. If that is your attitude I hope you find a new country to move to.

Do you live near a nuclear power plant? How far away is it from you & do you know what to do in a crisis? The CBS program entitled "Jericho" got me thinking. Also I remember reading Nevil Shute's 1957 classic novel ""On The Beach." Synopsis of On The Beach: "Shute's best-known novel. The story of how people in Australia react to their approaching death from radioactive clouds caused by a nuclear war. Captain Dwight Towers, the commander of an American nuclear submarine, arrives in Australia with his crew, the last survivors from the northern hemisphere. He and Moira, an Australian beauty, share their last days together in a chaste relationship, as Dwight remains true to his wife who died in the early days of the war." sourceof synopsis: http://www.nevilshute.org/Reviews/thumbnails.php BTW, I'm 45 miles from some Coastal Nuclear power plants, Upwind of them when the sea breeze is out of the South. They are within the cone of uhcertainty for Hurricane Dean after it crosses the Yucatan Peninsula. On 08-22/23-2007 Dean, traveling in a NW direction, hit the Yucatan Peninsula as a cat 5 hurricane and then it continued across the Bay of Campeche to hit Tuxpan as a cat 1. US/ Texas got lucky bec the brunt was taken in a low population area. But it's only a matter of time.
Foreigners wearing flip flops in Manila? I would just like to know what Filipino people think of foreigners wearing flip flops in places like malls and such? I'm a 20 sumthing Australian born filipino who wears beach culture clothes like Billabong and Ricurl inspired things and as anyone would know flip flop thongs are a must for the clothes. Do people there frown upon or simply don't care?
australian workplace law? Can i sue my last employer? Can my last employer get in trouble for beaching my privacy after I resigned? okay more details are as follows, i have taken him to HR to complain about his treatment of me during my pregnancy and he has disclosed the HR information to other staff members, therefore influencing their descision not to re-employ me now that i can return to work
What is it like in Hawaii and Cairns? Ive been reading about them. They both got nice beaches and clean fresh air. And Im sure theyve got fresh food too. I really want someone who lives in either of these places to tell me honestly that there is no crime. Why should there be? Its like paradise and everybody got to do there part to keep it that way. And what kind of employment can I find in either of these 2 places. I got a Science degree but I like a active(not desk-bound) career that enables me to have a resonably comfortable life for me and one day my future family. I am honest and willing to learn and adapt. I took up Australian PR but Sydney has too much crime.
